The County has completed the purchase of a 5,800 square foot building at the corner of Cambria Drive and Main Street in the West Village. This facility will more than double the space of the existing library, have increased parking, a technology center, enlarged multifunctional areas for children, teens, and adults, and a more efficient staff work area.
The outside of the building is finished. The next step is getting custom designs for the insides. Construction of the interior of the building will begin when the Friends raise the local share of the funding.

As Good As She Got
Celebrated Cambria author, Catherine Ryan Hyde, helped make it possible for present and future readers to enjoy resources that helped make her success possible - a free public library.
The author of:seventeen books, including “Pay It Forward,” and “Earthquake Weather,” spent a Saturday afternoon hosting a talk and book signing to benefit the new Library. The Firends of the Library served cookies and punch - but Catherine provided the real punch: an autographed set of her first three published works for every person who made a donation.

BRING IN ANOTHER $2,500!
A group of Cambrians and County staff spent three months working through 28 separate proposals from architectural firms from all over the Western US for completing the design of our new Library. The group chose RRM Design Group, a local firm, to carry us forward.
RRM began work in August. The initial goal is to get all the design elements in place and produce renderings that can be used in fund raising. Keep checking back to see design ideas and drawings here on our website.
