Sue Nash

The Human Form – timeless and expressive. It is a pleasure for us to present this show of works with aspects of the human form as the theme. Sue Nash has lived in Cambria for nine years. Her daughter-in-law, Yolanda Bobe-Odom, has been living in Cambria for fourteen years. A few of the pieces are by Sue’s son, Scott Odom. All three of us wonder at the human condition and celebrate its lessons.

I am a mixed media artist working primarily with fabric, paper, paint, beads, feathers, wood, polymer and any other object created or found that suits my purpose. Though I usually begin a piece with a particular idea in mind, it almost never ends up how I envisioned it. I let the idea go once I get started and the materials have their say. They do have a voice! Looking at a finished piece, I see things I’d not been aware of while I was working. I believe this to be the spirit that guides my hand and speaks to me through my work. My hope is this spirit will speak to you, too.
