Robin Wayne

Robin Wayne was born in California, but spent half a dozen of her growing-up years in Brazil. This may account for her deep fascination with color and pattern.

Graduating with an Art major from the University of Miami, she came west to Los Angeles and soon found that her need for food and shelter required her to get a job.

Although her thirty years as an elementary school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District gave her many opportunities to exercise her talents as an artist, it wasn't until her retirement and move to Cambria in 1996 that her creative juices were fully unleashed.

Robin began decorating ceramic tiles in order to decorate the risers of the stairs in her home. She found this process so enjoyable that she began to paint other items and use other media for artistic expression. She has sold her art work in Cambria, Carmel, and Palo Alto.

In the past few years, she has participated in workshops with renowned artists such as Libby Tolley, John Barnard, Susan Jenkins and Brian Blood. She also had a one-man show at Casa De Oro, is one of the featured artists at Teresabelle Gallery, and has been a previous sole exhibitor for a month at the Public Library.

She continues to take classes and meet with fellow artists on a weekly basis.
